Delicious!

We enjoyed our tour through the museum. It was very informative. We topped it off with a visit to the cafe for hot chocolate and cake. I would definitely recommend a visit to the shop on the main floor. We bought 2 Kilos of quality chocolate for under 20 euros!

    Lovely afternoon out
My husband and I came to this museum back in 2014 and as we visited the city with his Mum we decided to go back with her. We arrived at 11.45, and headed straight for the exhibition of chocolate upstairs. It was small but very good. The film was in English and we particularly liked being able to sample a cocoa bean. Being from England the adverts and retro packaging on display didn't mean a lot to us, however it was still interesting. Then we headed to the shop on site and went mad buying all the various chocolate bars on sale. We found a gingerbread bar and stocked up with them, along with other good value chocolate from the bargain section at the back of the shop. €40 later we thought we would visit the cafe for another sugar rush. As it was a lovely sunny day we sat outside and were served promptly by a very friendly waitress. We ordered two types of cake, coffee and I had a marzipan hot chocolate which I almost downed in one gulp as it was so tasty. We sat there in the sunshine for a while before deciding to walk off a bit of the chocolate. The grounds surrounding the museum were pretty and natural. We walked over the bridge to a big lake with lots of wildlife surrounding it. Feeling refreshed we walked back to the museum for a last look and toilet break before heading back to our apartment to relax. Highly recommended and we still enjoyed it second time around.

    Stay with the chocolate
The building is beautiful, as the garden at the back. Unless you are a big fan for modern art, skip the Museum (6 Euro ticket) and go straight to the chocolate museum (and of course the Ritter Shop). Restaurant was very busy and service was slow.
