Excellent museum in an inspiring building
The Museum celebrates the automobile invented by Carl Benz in 1886: it relates its history and tells its stories, bringing both alive by placing them in the context of technology, day-to-day life, social history and popular culture. More than 160 vehicles of all types are the main protagonists. They range from some of the oldest automobiles ever built to legendary racing cars and futuristic research vehicles. Together with other exhibits, they form the centrepiece of the permanent exhibition covering a total of 16,500 square metres in twelve rooms. This unparalleled world can be discovered on two tours that follow a 'Legend' and 'Collection' narrative.

Must-see in Stuttgart
A lot to do and see. ~3 hours. Small caffees inside. Only small handbags allowed in the exhibition - couldn't take my backpack (regular size). A place for children to mKe their wheel. Audioguide available.

Best car museum that I went to
Wonderful museum that arranged the history of Mercedes-Benz according to era, and blended in notable occurences in the world and how it affected the company. Full 8 stories worth of cars and history, and it is possible to spend a full day here if one is really interested in cars. Each car is just so beautiful and there are so many details. Staff were friendly and if one chooses an audio guide, the lanyard for the audio guide is free as a souvenir. This is a wonderful surprise at the end of the tour.
