A nice drive around the lake

During a road trip in Germany, we decided to drive around the lake in the South side, going through Switzerland, Austria and back to Germany. This is a beautiful drive. We stopped between Steinach and Horn in Switzerland where there is a nice spot to sunbathe, picnic and swim.

Incredible cycling trip around Lake Konstanz
My partner and I just completed a two-week bicycle trip around Lake Konstanz. We had a fantastic time, no regrets. We rented regular bikes (no battery) from Kultur-Rädle. The staff there are super-friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. We tried out the bikes for a day at Reichenau Insel near Konstanz, and then headed clockwise with the following stops: Radolfzell (after circling the Untersee); Unteruhldingen (Meersburg); Friedrichshafen; Bregenz; side trip to Vaduz; then Rorschach and back to Konstanz. Incredible views, scenery and adventures, not to mention food and drinks. Cycling was generally on fairly level terrain with a few exceptions (e.g. from Radolfzell to Bodman, but then just push your bike up the hills). We were fortunate with mostly good weather. Our luggage was transferred from hotel to hotel by Radweg Reisen who were extremely helpful. They did not transfer luggage to Vaduz, Liechtenstein so we need to take a few things with us for that part. Proof of vaccination was required everywhere. Everything worked out well. We highly recommend this cycling adventure.

    Constantly rewarding
Largest lake in Europe, stunning vistas, historic towns and villages, from Stein am Rhine to Bregenz, numerous opportunities of boat rides, from 1hour round trips (not round the lake!) to long excursion to outlying towns, in comfort and safety. Swiss, German and Austrian bordering on the lake offer a variety of attractions and foods. The magnificent botanical wonder of Mainau, the Swedish owned island tastefully and diligently displaying plants and trees from exotic as well as domestic origins is a "must-see". Konstanz city is stunning including the Cathedral, and the old town. The land border between Switzerland and Germany is open, and one easily strolls between Kreutzlingen and Constance without border formalities.
