Great day out!

Great day out. Lots of free parking next to the building. Easy to find. Staff are friendly. Good presentations to walk through before you enter the main gas tank. All displays are in English and subtitles for the movie. The platform is 4 stories with chairs to sit on each level. Great views with music and lights. Great for all ages. Definitely recommend.

    Amazing!
We love the Gasometer, we went to Rom 360 a few years ago and just went to Great Barrier Reef the other day. The photography is quite something with all the natural lighting. Yadegar Asisi is a talented man! Allow 1.5-2.5 hours for mist enjoyment. Suitable for any age, our 3 year old grand daughter even liked it. Would love to actually get to Great Barrier Reef one day.

    Stunning!
This is an art installation by Yadegar Asisi, a 360 degree panorama of Ancient Rome in 312 AD, built inside an old gasometer. It is a huge mural that absolutely captures your imagination, particularly with a wonderful soundtrack that is synchronised with the lights that illuminate it. The mural is a collection of all kinds of photos and artwork, built together to form one massive picture. You can sit and watch the lights move from daybreak, with a cockerel crowing and birds singing, as dawn breaks and the lights intensify gradually until it is all in bright sunlight. We really enjoyed looking for the detail in the mural, there is so much to see. We probably spent a good 90 minutes looking at it. It doesn't matter if you don't speak German, as all the displays are in English too. At an €11 entrance fee, we thought it was good value. See if you can spot the lad in the toga with the t-shirt tan and one leg of his jeans hanging down below his toga! If you arrive in a campervan, as we did, please note that the multi-storey car park is only 1.9 meters. You can park on the roof and also across the other side of the main road though, and the latter is free.
