The Crusades history!

If you are interested in the history, yes! Go try this place! Most of the exhibitions are only in German with a little bit of English sub-translation. With a knowledge of the Crusades helps you to know more and enjoy this place and this town better. It’s small simple town compared to a few other Romantische Straße towns like Rothenburg but this small town has such a history and it’s beautiful charm.

A very interesting museum about Teutonic Knights
Deutschordensmuseum is a museum located in the castle of Bad Mergentheim, a little town in Germany. It is about the history of Teutonic Knights. Very interesting. Also, inside the museum, you can see a wonderful staircase and some of important rooms for the Knights. Very interesting place to know the history of this region and Europe.

    An old-style museum
Not a very imaginative presentation. We found the historical information interesting but it was almost all just photos with written info and very small printing at that. The photos of the furnished rooms on the museum's website were very misleading and a disappointment. The current exhibition about Native Americans is much better in all respects. It's a shame it isn't permanent, we really enjoyed it. A warning if you go on a Saturday - they close the church for weddings. But you do get the added bonus of watching the festivities in the courtyard. All bags have to be placed in lockers, which was a problem for me as I have meds I need with me at all time. I keep them in a small ziploc bag for such occasions, which has never been a problem before. The man here though was quite unpleasant about it, even when I showed him what I had. I was told that I'd just better be careful that I didn't damage any of the exhibts! Well, the only thing that wasn't two-dimensional, behind glass or securely roped off was a large block of stone. We're still laughing about that one. The lockers are completely unnecessary. We spent 2+ hours in the museum but we read every bit of info. Skim it and walk briskly and you could be out in twenty minutes, easy.
