Beautiful fajas with lakes

There is a beautiful hike between faja dos Cubres and faja do Santo Cristo. I started at Norte Pequeno and walked down to the firs faja (passing by the beautiful miradouro from where you can see both of the fajas). Exploring the first faja, then along the coast (following red marks) to the second one - at both there is always a cafe/restaurant so if you're coming in the season, you can probably get something to eat there. I came in late October so the restaurant was closed. It also looked as a good surfing spot and for the lazier/less fit people there was an opportunity to get a lift by a quad bike. From the second faja I continued up the red marked trail to the road ER 2-2 where from I hitchhiked, as it was enough for me as a day trip. But you could also continue on the trail from here to Faja dos Vimes on the other side of the island, where the only european coffee plantation is located.

    Faja de Santo Cristo
    S. Jorge is probably the nicest island of Azores and Faja de Santo Cristo is its ex-libris. Yes, you have to walk to see it like you should... but it deserves the efforts.

    Amazing back to basics experience
Loves my stay, amazing surf, no crowd! No electricity or internet service which was a blessings! Back to nature! Stayed at the Caldeira Surf Camp with private double room, very nice! Nothing else to do but enjoy nature and relax!
