Lucky Day
We were lucky enough to be there in the afternoon when the sun came out finally after a rainy morning. Our guide changed our itinerary and we went around the other parts of the island first and hoping that the sun would come out later. It sure did and we got to be here to admire the beautiful lakes. The colors of the two lakes were not that obvious due to weather but we were happy!

Amazing walk
Beautiful walk and scenery. Try to go on a clear day if possible. If travelling to Sete Cidades by bus get a taxi to the top where you can start the walk (otherwise you will be tired just from walking to the top). There are different trails to choose from. Worth taking waterproofing as the weather changes very quickly. If you are wondering what the ruin is near the the top of the road road from Sete Cidades - a ***** ruin hotel that only operated for around 18months and won an award for being the best in Portugal on the day it closed 30 or so years ago.

Gorgeous
Drove from Ponta Delgada to this magnificent place, the views form the top of the mountains are so stunning and once you reach the town and see the lake itself it's really worth it. Try some local delicacies also. Pray for the weather not to rain!
