Museo Andres Avelino Caceres, Ayacucho Region, Peru

Homage to an impressive man

I've been here twice. This humble little museum pays homage to the life of Andrés Avelino Cáceres. He was Peru's version of General Stonewall Jackson. Impressive life, President of Peru 3 times. The museum, as best I can tell, is staffed by young soldiers from a nearby army base.

    Interesting
The museum should be better taken care of. Caceres is one of the most respected Peruvian heroes and his site should reflect this fact.

    Nice house. That's it.
He lodged at this nice house while in Ayacucho. It is decently kept, but the collection of artifacts, photos, and paintings is not worth your effort.
