Lac Parvin

The Lake Pravin is absolutely stunning. The walk around it took an hour for people of relatively good fitness however it may take longer depending on how much you stop and how fit you are. One of the most incredible features of the lake is the colour, a turquoise blue. Swimming isn’t permitted in the Lake however dipping your feet in from the side is fine. There is a restaurant overlooking the lake, we didn’t go there but it looked relatively full. The Lake Pravin definitely deserves a rating of 5 stars.

    Crater!
Go and see it. Clear water and geological wonder. It even has a bar! The lac contains Arctic Char if you fish. Stocked locally from Besse.

    Relax with beauty
Lac Pavin is a very deep lake, clear (but not quite as clear as once it was) blue water formed in a volcano crater near Besse. It is a beautiful and relaxing walk. In the lake are trout, artic char and minnows, with ducks and other wildlife. If you travel anti-clockwise from the restaurant, you continue nearer the lake level. You can get about 2/3rds of the way round with a pushchair with ease. The last part rises steeply and is littered with rocks and outcrops, and the path is crossed by many streams without bridges and some without boundaries! You can navigate it by carrying a pushchair (we've done it) but it's not easy and you would need a third person to supervise any loose children. You are likely to get muddy feet in this last part even if it has been hot.its in the shade all the way round, and you could always turn back halfway.
