Laguna Verde
At 4200 mtrs in the Andes, near the border of Argentina, this is a sight that takes your breath away. As you drive in from Copiapo, the Laguna, suddenly bursts in on you after a 90 degree turn. Besides the drive being fantastic, the locale is amazing. Th water is ice cold, but just next to the Laguna, you have three small pits full of hot water where you can soak yourself in the salt+algae water. Refreshing. I ave been there three times so far and each time I have been able to discover something a fresh. You will have to carry water and other eatables with you as nothing is available once you leave Copiapo.
