    Fun for the whole family
We had a rainy day and wanted something to do that wasn't outdoors. Found this with a quick internet search and are thrilled we did. We had a whole lot of fun with all the interesting exhibits. Not only did our teen (home educated) kids have fun but so did we parents. The museum is big enough to spend at least 3 hours at (we were much closer to 4) but small enough to not be overwhelmed by size and scope. It gave us time to really play with the exhibits and all. One highlight was the 'underground' space where you crawl, use rope ladders, dark slides, etc. to explore underground AR. Tthe biggest highlight was the Tesla show. It was extra and WELL worth it. Where else would you get to see the world's largest Tesla coil go off? Awesome!!!

Best “science” museum in the South!
This is one of my absolute favorite stops in Hot Springs. Unlike other “science” museums, this one’s exhibits all work, and are focused solely on science (and not things like grocery shopping/play). The museum itself is sprawling, well maintained, and just pretty to look at. The skyway is so unique, and fun for all ages. The whimsical machines of Mr. Rowland Emett are located throughout the museum, displaying basic principles of machinery in a fun, enlightening way. There is an informative book on his life in the museum shop as well. Definitely opt for the $3/pp Tesla Coil show (beware, can be noisy for very little kids who cannot cover their own ears). Great explanation that goes along with the demonstration of Nikola Tesla’s genius. Where else can you see the most powerful Tesla coil and a demo of true wireless electricity? So much for for kids AND adults alike. Absolutely plan to spend the day. One note, the cafe was closed while we were here, and there were very limited options in the museum gift shop for food. Fortunately, you can leave and come back for lunch if you choose. There is a great little hamburger shop just down the road. ?
