    Nicely done and well-kept
Beautifully laid out gardens with wide, paved walking paths as well as unpaved trails off into the woods. Some of the main paths are hard-packed gravel. Much of the gardens are shaded which was nice during our visit in a heat wave - although I would recommend visiting earlier in the day rather than later. The Anthony Chapel is worth a visit - it is air conditioned. ?. We enjoyed our time here.

Nice park with a cool Tree house and the Children's park
If you ask me I am no longer a fan of huge gardens just because of the amount of walking involved and many a times it ends up not being as rewarding as it might seem to be. In this case Garvan Gardens, it has a entry fee of $15 for adults and $5 for kids too. But with this being the most visited attraction in Little Rock, I decided to give it a go. First reaction, really hot and humid, I must say that this assessment was perfect from most reviewers on this. But the pleasant surprise was the Chapel which is outside of the park and doesn't need entry. The structure is really cool and unique and to sit inside it was a very calming experience. Entrance is through the visitor center on the right side of the gate as we spent some time figuring out where the entry was as the ticket counter on the outside was closed with a 'No entry' board at the front which made us and others wonder if the park was closed, glad, I took the side route to enter the center and they sell the tickets only inside the gift shop which was confusing with no signs about it outside. Then coming to park, after the entry, we rushed to the Children's park and the tree house and the tree house was the star attraction as kids love playing in there. the structure is strong and is really cleverly designed. The inside has some small adventures and the place is great to take cool pictures. The park is huge and does need a lot of walking but what really made my day was seeing a humming bird in the wild, it was a first and I saw it close to a big butterfly to be able to compare that it was sized almost smaller than the butterfly. Can't promise everyone can see it but I was lucky enough to catch it two times. The garden is well maintained and there is a lake nearby with with boats, when we were here it seemed like a huge party going on with loud music so we didn't head that way. Unlike most others, we did not get to see a peacock but the humming bird made up for it. The gift shop is ok.
