What to do on Lake Powell without a boat…hike The Chains to the water

This man-made reservoir, located in northern Arizona and southern Utah, is a great spot for travelers seeking nature and outdoor adventure. Embark on a boat tour from either Wahweap Marina or Antelope Point Marina and witness the magnificent rock formations along the lake, like Navajo Canyon and the Toilet Bowl. It is also a haven for fishing and water sports, including boating, jet skiing, and kayaking. You can even camp in the area and explore other natural landmarks, like the iconic Horseshoe Bend. Plan your visit from summer through early fall to enjoy longer days and breathtaking sunsets. – Tripadvisor

    Fantastic
We made our reservation well in advance with Lake Powel Resorts. They were very professional. You have to enter the resort area on National Recreation Property which requires and entry fee. Our National Park Pass took care of it. Arrive early because there is an hour difference between Utah and Arizona time zones. You can wait inside the resort lobby which is very plush and airconditioned. There you can grab some food at the restaurant or snack bar prior to departure. The Lake Trip on board the "Miiss Bird" was pleasurable. Your two options are the upper deck which is open and wind blown and quite sunny. Or you can go down stairs out of the wind and sun with large observation windows. It is also airconditioned on the lower deck. Coffee, ice tea, and water are complimentary. The scenery is awesome and keep your camera ready to snap pics of the beautiful cliffs along the shore line. Worth every penny spent.

Navajo Canyon boat tour to the Glen Canyon Dam and beautiful Lake Powell
We booked a Navajo Canyon boat tour that left from the Wahweap Marina at Lake Powell Resort. They used a small tram to transport people down to the marina. The boat was spacious, with 2 levels. The upper deck did not have a cover and offered sweeping view during the boat ride. We went to the Glen Canyon Dam, then Navajo Canyon, and Navajo Tapestry, First you zig zag to get out, quite interesting sceneries. They provided water, coffee, and lemonade on board. A very relaxing way to enjoy Lake Powell. The tour took about 3.5 hours to return. We got to see many house boats, kayakers, other boaters. It made a very pleasant morning.
