Barbara's secret

The Crinan Canal was a delight, John Rennie's masterpiece was truly worth the trip. The end of the journey was topped off by a stop at the Crinan Canal Cafe' hosted by the wonderful Debbie. The Apple and Cinnamon slice with "Barbara's specialty Mocca" [ not on the menu, she will make it on request] was superb!

    Lock 6 Crinan Canal
Lock 6 is a beautiful cottage literally on the door step of the Crinan Canal. The minute you walk through the door you will feel like it’s your home. The owners attention to detail plus the quirky additions of art work and ornaments are amazing. Well worth a visit!

    Just lovely... short but lovely
Just lovely... short but lovely. 8.5miles in total. Whether you explore by boat, walking, running or bicycle, this canal is lovely. The towpath has recently been resurfaced and in very smooth and solid. The route is almost totally off-road so very good for families. There is some interpretation which adds tot he interest.
