Interesting musuem with some weird exhibits

This 17th century convent has been rebuilt several times due to earthquake damage. Now a museum, its rooms contain mummies, masks and souvenirs collected on missionary travels.

    An underrated, under visited jewel, especially the library...
    ...When there is no video-interactive baloney around (everything has its time and place and good museums like good classes do not need technology) and there is even a little bit of dust, you know you have found something special, and that you are lucky to be seeing it now. La Recoleta is such a museum, and if it was more centrally located, there would be lines. It is a quick, easy and inexpensive taxi tide, or a picturesque twenty minute walk. The library here is a gem, and other exhibits are uniquely satisfying.

    Just to see the library is worth the whole visit! Very quiet and relaxing place, interesting colections.
