    Amazing place!
This is more than a religious place. First of all, get a guide! If you visit this place by yourself, you will miss all the details beyond history. This place originated many elements of the Arequipean culture (for example, the Queso Helado found in most city corners). Be nice and purchase something from the store of the Monastery, even if it's one chocoteja! Even if you are not religious, do it as a form of support to preserve the local history and culture.

    Nice beautiful monastery
Nice well kept monastery with a story. We took a tour with an English guide, her English was good and the yourguide explained a lot about the premisses. The different colours of the monastery and several quaters, kitchens, washrooms gives you a good idea about how life must have been in those days. The monastery was inhabited by the first daughters from rich families who brought their kids from the age of 7 ( unbelievable ) they were not allowed to have any contact anymore with the outside world. They were only allowed to bring their servants who lived with them. Ofcourse this life close to God had to be rewarded by big big and rich spendings of the family because there is one thing every church in the world loves .... A nice tour for the afternoon on a rainy day which will bring your fantasy alive
