Texasville Opry was a wealth of great local talent
We were visiting family in Archer City, and had the opportunity to see a show here. We saw the "Texasville Opry", it was a fun show, with lots of amazing local talent. It was a great small town experience. This place is a must visit if you are lucky enough to be in town during one of their productions. For $15 a seat, it was a great bargain.

Remembering A Friend and Mentor
As has been the case with other reviewers, my trip to the Royal Theater in Archer City, Texas was nostalgic. Robert W. Arnold, a valued friend, boss and mentor, has a seven-second speaking part in The Last Picture Show. I stopped by to see the theater and the road where his scene was filmed one more time before heading up to Wichita Falls (The Big City in the movie) and paying my respects at his grave site. Brought back some great memories.

If you ever saw the Last Picture Show, stop here!
As a fan of the Last Picture Show movie, I wanted to take a look at the actual theater. While the inside no longer exists, it is easy to imagine the theater as it was. The outside structure is freshly painted and well maintained. It is directly across from the County Courthouse, and, of course, on the street with the town's sole traffic light.
