Hari Tours
We stayed at Hostal EcoExplor and paid $16,500 pesos per person for Valle de la Luna. We toured with Hari tours. Valle de la Luna was absolutely stunning.. breath-taking.. Like nothing we have ever seen before. Nice small walk, not too difficult, but manage to see so many different views of desert and rock landscapes, as well as salt build ups which is fascinating. Our guide, Mario, was absolutely fantastic. He spoke amazing English and was so knowledgeable and passionate about the landscape. Following Valle de la Luna, we were taken to 'tres marias' and a few other stops for photos, then, Coyote Rock to watch the sunset which was pretty magical. Highly recommend this tour and using Hari to tour with

You CAN see the sunset WITHOUT a guide!
We were told that after 1pm only tours can enter moon valley meaning no sunset unless we joined a tour. FALSE. If you buy a ticket before 1pm this ticket also allows you to enter the viewing area at Mirador Piedra del Coyote (a few minutes drive from moon valley entrance) for the sunset viewing. This is where all the tour groups go as you can see the sun set over the entire valley. Tickets cost 2500 per person before 1pm which gets you entrance to the valley plus entrance to the viewing area for sunset - just keep hold of your ticket. So, save yourself the £20 tour price and drive or bike yourself!

Otherworldly!
This trip was an old dream of mine, and it was so incredible! Much more than I expected! Everything there is amazing, but I would advise people to pay special attention to the Amphitheatre, which is a very unique and giant wall in the middle of the Valle, and also to the "Tres Marías" formation. The sunset is also spectacular - don't forget to take a look in direction of the Licancabur vulcan, because the colors there at the sunset are incredible. Valle de La Luna became one of my favourite places in this world, and I'll surely come back there to explore it deeper. Thanks to Whipala Expedition and the guide Pepe for the amazing time there!
