One of the most beautiful locations overlooking the river. The sunset is simply gorgeous, and with Alton Muny Band entertaining the evening is unforgettable.

Great Views... on a Nice Day... but Always a Peaceful Stroll
I came back to one of my old "haunts" while in town for my high school reunion. The top-o'-the-bluff views of the Mississippi River can be quite a treat... on a nice day. Alas, it was a gray-sky day when I made this visit. But, nonetheless, the peaceful, quiet walk through the park from the small parking lot to the bluff's edge was quite relaxing. If I recall correctly on a previous visit years ago... I saw some eagles hovering on the updrafts near the park's perimeter at the bluff.
