History of Kazakhstan
Museum is undergoing restoration externally but all exhibition areas were available inside. Our local guide took us round and described the countries history through the exhibits right up to the present day. Probably would not have found it as interesting without a guide.

Not big but interesting
Haven't been there since Middle school years. Was well impressed by progress happened during last fifteen years. Firstly, ticket price changed. Now its 300kzt for locals and 500kzt (~1,6$) for foreigners. Also every exhibit was provided by description in 3 languages (Kazakh, Russian and English). And you can order a guided tour as you wish for an additional price. Museum includes three main halls: 1. Paleontological and archeological hall. It consists of local discoveries of dinosaurs and ancient life in Kazakhstan. 2. Multicultural hall. Kazakhstan is known for its hospitality and peaceful life of more than 130 different nationalities on its territory, so this hall includes exhibits of nationalities living in Kazakhstan. 3. Modern political and economical hall. The last hall includes objects that been important for us since Kazakhstan became a Sovereign country. There were some other exhibitions for additional price we couldn't see, but if you have an opportunity to visit it, I think it won't take a lot of time, so it's up to you. One disappointing thing was that not all the staff can speak English well so be prepared not to have a chance to recieve appropriate answers.
