Great flightsee of the diverse landscape of the national park!

Our flightseeing was a memorable one with Kelly, along with one other company associate who came along, presumably because of our end of day, end of season adventure. Our tour was essentially private given these circumstances which is always helpful during COVID (though not promised at busier times of season and the day), and we did have good fortunes in near perfectly clear weather. Having done a Denali flightsee too, tough to pick a favorite between them, but this one had an incredible variety of landscape and things to see, with never a dull moment on the flight. Kelly was an effective tour guide and pilot, along with the associate who joined us, as they were incredibly knowledgeable and personable about the area, and Kelly showed confidence in serving as the pilot. The sights were incredible, and though an expensive activity overall, the 70 minute edition we chose was more than worth it for the traveler to Alaska.

    Absolutely amazing service
We chartered Wrangell Mountain Air for a trip from Anchorage to McCarty and back again the next day. The experience was superb. When we wanted to fly out of Anchorage the weather was terrible so the plane to pick us up got stuck in Palmer. The team kept us permanently informed on the situation. As it became clear that they cannot fly to Anchorage that day they organized a Van to bring us to Palmer where we later that day could fly out to McCarthy. Thanks to that flexibility and service our Kennicot trip was possible which we would otherwise have missed. The flight itself and the pilot were just fantastic. Great talks and a fun experience throughout. We flew out with the same pilot the next day when the weather was perfect. As a courtesy he flew us out via a nice detour on the local Kennicott glaciers which was an experience by itself. Also the flight back to Anchorage then was fantastic, flying along the spectacular mountains and passing numerous glaciers. But also after the flight the service continued. We forgot something in the Kennicott Lodge and Wrangell Air organized to bring it to Anchorage and delivered to our Hotel all as a courtesy. We are very thankful to have booked with Wrangell Air and would/will do it always again. Big thank you to the whole Wrangell Air team.

    Wow, wow, wow!!
We utilized Wrangell Mountain Air for two services. The first was the flights between Chitina and McCarthy, and this was entirely worth it! Unless you're a glutton for punishment and don't care about wasting hours and hours or trashing your rental on the drive, take these flights! Each flight, slightly less than an hour, was very scenic and fun. Before the flight, they'll meet you at the airstrip (follow the detailed instructions they'll provide), weigh your luggage, and place you on your plane. Headsets are provided so you can talk with the pilot and spare you from the noise of the plane, and even though this was my first experience on a small plane like this, I felt completely safe and comfortable. Our pilot for both legs, Dave, was informative and patient with questions. WMA works very compatibly with the Kennicott Lodge, and the shuttle was already organized between the two companies for travel to and from the airstrip. Our second charter with WMA was for a 90 minute Bagley Ice Field flighseeing trip. My special thanks to a gal at the office who worked so hard with the schedule to get us on a trip! Sorry, I looked for you to thank you in person, but you were off. (And now I've forgotten your name!) The fightseeing trip to the Bagley Icefield was incredible! You can't truly grasp the size and majesty of it until you're flying over it, and honestly, it helped me understand the significance of these icefields to the glaciers and mountains within their reach. Our pilot, Kade (I think?), was terrific, wove in and around the mountains, and made us feel like we were floating through the gorgeous landscapes. Words defy me to describe how utterly beautiful the entire experience was; it was a once in a lifetime adventure. Believe me when I say I know it seems like a lot of money, yet I can only say that after having done it, I would regret having not done so. Additionally, it was a pleasure working with such a professional organization.
