Great stop
Great stop that you can make of it what you want. Can take 10 min walk to platform or continue on and hike up to the glacier. We hiked up. No shade at all so be aware. Be careful with falling rocks and I wouldn’t go up really close to the ice like we saw some people doing. Pretty open area but many people were carrying or had bear spray. We did it with 4 and 5 year olds and they had a blast. Great stop. Small parking fee payable in gift shop.

Snowed Out
On May 20, 2022, the parking drive/lot was still snow covered and access was only granted by deep snow. We didn't have snow shoes, so we put on our boots and proceeded forth as far as others...after this, we would have needed snow shoes as you just would sink in. Hopefully it melts a bit and gets cleared soon. Enjoy!
