Winner Creek Trail Hand Tram, Alaska, United States

4.5 (254 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Anchorage Points of Interest & Landmarks

Excellent there and back trail suitable for most people

Gently undulating, forested there and back trail, 2.5 mile each way to the hand tram. Unfortunately this is currently closed for safety upgrades but there are good river views and a few peaks at the surrounding mountains. Bug spray recommended.

    Great Hike
Great 5 mile round trip hike that starts just next to the Gondola at Alyeska resort. You'll pass over a roaring river, hike next to lots of water, and see some amazing views of the the forest and mountains. The first mile is relatively easy, the next 1.5 to the hand tram (currently closed) I would describe as more moderate. It was a bit muddy at the end from all the rain. Took us approx. 2 1/2 hours with stops along the way. Highly recommend!

Easy trail next to Alyeksa Resort
We hiked this trail knowing that the hand tram is shut down for repairs. It is a great trail regardless. Easy boardwalks and gravel make this a good trail for beginners. Easy access from Alyeka resort.
