Incredible way to explore Alaska!
As a fan of easy weekend backpacking in desert SoCal, I was nervous about exploring a park as vast as Wrangell St-Elias on my own. Finding Trek Alaska was such a win! Greg Fensterman, the owner, was incredibly communicative during planning, he made clear the physical expectations of the trek, and even recommended hotels/shuttles which made my trip more smooth. I went out on the Donoho Glacier Trek with a group of 4 other people, varying levels of backpacking experience, and we had an amazing time. Even though I was travelling solo I felt welcomed and safe with the group and my guides. Guides John and Monet were both very experienced in backpacking, had spent significant time in Alaska, and were excited to guide us through new terrain. It was the perfect balance of informative/helpful without coddling or hand-holding. From coaching us through more efficient packing pre-trip, to educating us on the types of terrain, to cooking meals that were unexpectedly delicious, this trip was one for the books. I know Trek Alaska does tours throughout the entire state and I am so excited to return and explore new backcountry sites with them again! Cannot recommend this highly enough!

A backcountry experience to remember!
I can't recommend traveling with Trek Alaska enough! Greg, the owner, helped our group of 4 plan a perfect backcountry trip in Gates of the Arctic and walked through some different options that might work with the activity level, physical fitness, and sights we wanted to see. Our guide Monet was a perfect addition to our group and helped us feel so safe and prepared and make the most of the trip. Trek Alaska's expertise is far-reaching and I will definitely be reaching out again for a Wrangell - St. Elias trip in the future!
