    Great, Interesting Low Cost Attaction
If you go to Skagway, please take the time to stop in this museum. It is small, but it is quite interesting and at $2, a great deal. The absolute best deal is the free walking tour offererd by the National Park Rangers at the next door visitor's center. The tour takes you inside the museum and offers some interesting history of Skagway, some very interesting stories about it's early settlers and a window into the life of a prospector. Amazing pieces of history. The tours are appx. 45 minutes and include a quick stop in the museum. You'll appreciate this quaint, gold rush town much more with some historical perspective. We visited with our teenage daughters who enjoyed hearing about "Soapy Smith" and his gang of bandits.

Nice surprise off the crowded street
This was unexpected! We spotted the building from busy Broadway and thought it was a church at first. Going closer, it was only when we were practically inside that we discovered it was a museum. There is a small admission fee but not a cash grab and it is clear that this place is a local supporter of artists in the area, which I'm happy to also support. The museum provides a nice insite into everyday life of the settlors and people who built this town. Expect to spend at least 30 minutes here.
