Excellent Kodiak Island Tour
The Kodiak Life was a FABULOUS private tour! Tour Guide Janet geared it towards our interests which was island scenery, wildlife, and Kodiak interest points! We took a small hike to see an Eagle nest and Mama Eagle was there caring for her Baby! We saw 2 other Eagles nests during the day as well! They are huge! We also saw Eagles flying. We got to see several of the island’s bays and stopped at one to beach comb! I got some unique shells and we saw crabs in the water! We saw several Sitka deer and a few river otters. We also saw a herd of 15 Buffalo including 4 babies grazing near a beach!!! The views were incredible and since she drove, my Dad and I could relax and enjoy the awesome views! Kodiak is an amazing island and in the course of the day we drove through 3 different ecosystems. Janet was extremely knowledgeable about each one! And on top of all that, she provided our lunch and it was super delicious!!!❤️ We both highly recommend this tour!

Fun and informative Kodiak road tour! Great scenery and wildlife to be seen! Easy going and friendly vibe!
I had a wonderful time with Janet! She was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. Janet knew not only a lot about the plants and animals of Kodiak but also the history and shared interesting information about what life is like on the island, like the land ownership, major industries, and how supplies are shipped into the community. Janet catered the trip to my interests. She worked hard at getting me on Kodiak bears as she knew that was what I really wanted to see and we had wonderful viewing a of sow and her cubs! She also provided a thoughtful and tasty lunch. As a guide, myself, I really appreciated all that Janet put into the tour. I did not realize there was so much to see on the road system in Kodiak. There is a lot of amazing scenery and wildlife and one doesn't have to necessarily get flown into the backcountry to see stuff, especially if one is short on time. Janet showed me that. And since it was a private tour (I believe she only does private tours) we could go at the pace I wanted, which I really appreciated since there were times when I wanted to stay in a spot and soak it in, and there were times when I wanted to get after it and find bears. I would definitely recommend going out with Janet. Thank you Janet!

Highly Recommended Tour!
This tour is a must-do if you want to try to see Kodiak's wildlife and learn all about the island and its culture. Janet goes above and beyond to make the most of the tour for her clients. This includes trying to find the elusive Kodiak Brown Bear and other wildlife (fox, deer, rabbits, birds, etc.)--which is not guaranteed, but she tries her best to find the wildlife. She's extremely knowledgeable about all things Kodiak. You can tell how much she loves the island and its wildlife. She does an excellent job of passing along that knowledge and making the tour fun and interesting. I'm so glad I took the tour, not just once but twice. If you think about all the time you spend on the tour, all the driving Janet does, the included lunch, the photos that Janet takes and sends to her clients, and the overall excellent experience, this is a bargain. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in experiencing what Kodiak has to offer.
