Small local museum located in a building that dates from the late 1700's Some interesting displays of artifacts as well as very good display of baskets from the Aleutians Lots of historical photos to go through The staff is friendly and helpful Definitely worth a visit

OK Museum
We spent a week on Kodiak Island and got kind of tired of all the hiking, hunting, fishing, relaxing, slow paced life, amazing drives, beautiful coast, mountains, wildlife, hanging on 'Island Time', etc etc. (miss it already !) So we decided to visit The Baranov Museum. It is a small place with limited pieces, the entire place took about 15 minutes. You will find some interesting facts about the Island and if your not in a hurry, it could be informative. I'm sure I would have given it a higher rating, if I had taking more time, but we were actually in a hurry to get back to the hiking, hunting, fishing, relaxing, etc ..........
