Great day out on the lakes
I booked a very last minute vacation to Alaska and called Take Refuge once I had already arrived. Thankfully, Lee was more than willing to take me out on a day trip and he went out of his way to accommodate my schedule. We had a wonderful day on the lakes, fishing and canoeing. Lee’s canoes and fishing gear are high quality and his knowledge of everything from Alaskan history to the wildlife we saw and heard is unmatched. I had a very memorable day thanks to Lee!

Experience of a lifetime
We had a adventurous and magical time on the lakes in our canoes! Lee is so knowledgable, kind and patient. We were the only ones canoeing that day. We navigated creeks that made us feel a bit like Lewis and Clark. We had a picnic on a small island in an alcove and took a nature walk where lee pointed out cranberries (which of course we ate). He showed us the fungus that reindeer eat. It was a glorious day in the wilderness of Alaska. I definitely recommend going with Take Refige Canoe if you want an experience of a lifetime!

Canoeing day trip in Soldotna
Lee and his son Brennan were amazing hosts and great guides. The equipment was top notch and Lee took time to understand our skill set and make sure it was the day we were hoping for.
