Russian Icons

The cathedral was rebuilt to the original design after a fire. The highlight is the collection of Russian icons. Many of the icons are embellished with silver. The icons were produced in Russia in the 19th century as there is no natural silver in Alaska.

Open to the public during visiting hours
Out of respect you should remove your hat and put away all smoking and vaping materials before entering the church. The history and iconography here is beyond description. Beautiful and ornate church with no pews or chairs. The member of the church stand throughout the Divine Liturgy which can be 1.5 to 2 hours or longer.
