Nice Museum
Nice museum regarding history of the area. Small admission charge is well worth it and people there very friendly. If you go all the way to Skagway don't miss this for a little history lesson.

Skagway
I walked into Skagway from the harbour. The railway ticket office is one of the first buildings you come to and it has a history associated with those early Gold Rush days. Next door was the Klondike Ranger Service. They run Walking Tours through the town. It was very well done. The young lady began by explaining the geography of the area and then she gave us a potted history of the early settlers. We then walked through the town and she explained the significance of sites which related to those times. The tour took an hour. I would suggest that you take the tour before you go back to the Museum in the Klondike Ranger Service building. This museum has great displays and a large number of excellent photographs. These exhibits relate to that "Gold Rush Era" and show just how difficult life was for those who chose this as a career.
