Seafarer's Memorial, Alaska, United States

4.5 (68 reviews) Spent < 1 hour Ranking #13 in Homer Monuments & Statues

Beautiful Place

It was a humbling experience to stand here and think of the magnitude of the ocean. The plaques state the names of those lost and the vessel they were in. I was blown away to see kayaks listed on there, not just large ships etc. There are concrete benches right behind the memorial to sit and take in the ocean view and watch the sun set.

    A very touching place.
I had some time one trip waiting for the Ferry and walked to the Memorial. To honor all those lost at sea and a place for those left behind. It was humbling to stand in this place. May God Rest Their Souls.

    Nice memorial
A nice way to remember all those that have lost their lives to fishing. It's a beautiful walk along the beach to the statue & right across the street from the Salty Dawg where you can have a drink & listen to the stories of present day fisherman.
