Fantastic bear viewing, and more!
Jo was excellent in keeping touch with us, and updating us with weather conditions and pick up time, even several days ahead. Roland is such a friendly and informative guy, as well as an excellent pilot. We went to Fraser Lake near the south end of Kodiak, and had a nice air tour of the island along the way. We were so lucky when we were viewing the bears, that we didn't have any time limitations, and just comfortably watched as up to 14 bears came into the river and weir area to fish for salmon. On our way back, I jokingly told Roland that we hadn't seen any orcas during our time in the state, and he said they are only randomly seen. Just then, as we flew by Whale Island, we found a pod of orcas, and he landed the plane on the water; then they were surfacing near us! This was fantastic and afforded excellent photos and close experience. After we took off again, we flew over two pairs of mother and baby humpbacks. What an awesome day!

A have to on a visit to Kodiak Island
Thank you Jo and Roland and the marvelous office staff for a great adventure. You all are all so helpful and friendly. Thanks to a Kentucky girl for helping me get waders to fit. Jo, you are a great guide. You make us feel safe and your knowledge of the bear habits and your soft tone is so assuring. Roland, what a great pilot for my first Float plane trip. Seeing the vastness and beauty of Kodiak island on our way to and from Frazer Lake was magical. And the bears. WOW. I felt like I was on an episode of National Geographic. Wow. I Highly recommend this trip.
