Wonderful Experience

The entire experience was amazing. We got there a couple hours before the cruise was going to leave so we walked around Whittier which was so fun. Going through the tunnel to get to Whittier was also pretty exhilarating! The cruise itself was perfect (26 glacier tour). We saw a lot of wildlife (whales, otters, seals and dolphins) and the cruise was so smooth. Our ship was from NYC and had a lot of history which was really interesting. Thankful they shared that history with us. No one got sea sick because the ship rides so smooth but also travels at 36 knots which is a pretty healthy speed. We got great pictures of the glaciers and really enjoyed the chowder that was provided for us. I highly recommend experiencing the 26 glacier tour in Whittier, as I have no negative feedback about the entire experience!

    Majestic scenery
We thoroughly enjoyed the 3.75 hour 45 mile Glacier Quest Cruise. The captain was excellent with his narrative and stopped several times for the passengers to take pictures especially when the humpback whales were breaching which was a fantastic sight. The absolute highlight was the very impressive ice calving of one of the glaciers. Even the captain stated that in his seven years he had not seen such a large calving. Near Whittier was a rookery of 10,000 black legged kittiwake birds nesting along the sea cliffs. A complimentary lunch was served, would recommend the seafood chowder. The scenery was majestic. The boat was very clean and spacious.

    Glacier Cruise
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise starting with the lunch. Excellent food. It was a lot of fun riding on the boat and watching the scenery. We thought our captain and tour guide did a great job of explaining and showing things even taking time to move the boat over to where some of the animals were to give us a better close-up with them. Everyone there seemed to really enjoy standing on the bow of the boat while it was driving forward. That boat really moves! Pretty exciting! Thank you to the crew for a fantastic day on the water! I have 2 suggestions for possible improvements. The captain should take a few minutes to explain about the boat itself. I went to the back of the boat and was surprised to see jets rather than propellers. I spent some time on the back discussing with one of the other passengers who has a smaller jet boat (like a jet ski only bigger), and he told me about the drive mechanism. A brief 3-5 minute explanation would have been pretty cool to hear, too. With propellers injuring and killing sea animals it would be a great point to highlight that you're using a "jet" drive instead of propeller a drive. Number 2 is about the windows. The windows kept fogging up. There are air vents over the windows and they help some, and yes we had window squeegees, but a dehumidifier would help the air unit to be able to defog the windows better.
