Wonderful & Magical
I went with Out the Road Adventures -- super knowledgable about the many different flowers, trees and the history of the shrine. The shrine and its grounds is a wonderful time just to experience peace and beauty. It's a sacred space and I had a lovey time with Lisa Wright, the owner of the tour company. I/f you miss this tour while you are in Juneau, you will have missed a gem that will long be in my memories (while we were there a man even pulled out a guitar as the sun was setting, so I got free wonderful music too!)

Tranquil place
We are staying north of Juneau and this is just a few minutes away from us so my husband and I decided to make a quick trip. He heard it was good for fishing and wanted to check it out. Such a peaceful place, with signs telling the story and history of St. Therese, the Shrine and Stations of the Cross on a beautiful trail around, a labyrinth of stones, and right on the water so we saw a little wildlife too. You can rent for overnight stays and retreats. Such a quiet, tranquil place, would be great for reflection, prayer, and reading a book.
