Miles Glacier Bridge, Alaska, United States

4.0 (11 reviews) Spent More than 3 hours Ranking #5 in Cordova Bridges

Miles Glacier Bridge is still intact, but can only be accessed by boat!

You can no longer access the Miles Glacier Bridge by car. This is because Bridge #339 on the Copper River Highway has been partially destroyed. The Miles Glacier Bridge is many miles past that bridge. In order to see the Miles Glacier Bridge, you have to take a boat ride. It's still there, and it's still a sight to see. You could probably walk over it if you wanted to. If the bridge doesn't impress you, the glaciers definitely will.

Worth the adventure in travel to get to the bridge and glaciers
To get to the bridge you have to drive to the end of Copper River Road, then Captain Jack took us across the river in his airboat and then drove us in a van to the bridge. There is a really nice shelter and park to view Childs Glacier -- unfortunately, we did not see it calve. Recommend the hike up the hill for a view down onto both Childs and Miles Glaciers.

    It is gone!
The bridge was washed out several years ago. You can go see it at the "end" of the Copper River Highway. There are outfitters that can boat you over to the glacier there. Interesting for sure. Nice views.
