    Best Whale Sighting EVER!
In August 2018, I was having a sandwich standing on the shore by the log in this picture when a whale came up for air right in front of me! Best and closest sighting of a whale I had in the 20 years I lived in the area.

Very scenic and worth the drive.
Breath taking scenery from the beach of the Sumner Strait. You also get to see majestic old growth forest with trees as big around as you car is wide. Has rest rooms, picnic area and lots of great scenery to see during your drive to the north end of the Island. Worth the drive.
