Great escape!
Driving the long road back from Kennicott mine we stopped for a quick picnic lunch at Liberty Falls. It was an amazing, hidden gem. We enjoyed the sounds of the falls as we ate our lunch from Kennicott Lodge.

Gorgeous
This is a fantastic place to camp. The sound of the waterfall and stream make it an easy place to fall asleep. They have nice wooden platforms to get your tent off the ground. First come first serve and not a lot of sites though.

Nice stop for kids to scramble around while driving to Wrangell St. Elias
This is both a campground and the trailhead for some small hikes in the area. We stopped to stretch our legs and where glad we did. The waterfall seen from the parking lot is jetting water out. My son threw rocks off the bridge and we were able to scramble on the trail to get near the base of the waterfall. It can be a bit cliffy so be careful. There are a couple longer hikes within a 1/2 mile or so but we stayed on the smaller trails.
