Not expecting a destination Library on Kodiak Island . . .
Read in a review that cruise line passengers frequent this Public Library mainly for the free wi-fi internet but we enjoy books and libraries so made the trip to it, which is not far from the hotel we stayed at. So pleasantly surprised! Beautiful Alaskan feel and very quiet. Comfy chairs, tables, computers and rooms. Super nice staff as well. We went ahead and printed out our boarding passes and baggage tags while there so it was convenient. Worth the visit really.

Alibrary with a cultural focus and free Wi-Fi
Many cruise ship passengers head up to the Kodiac Library to take advantage of free and efficient Wi-Fi. It's about a 5 min cab ride from port ($6.) or a 20 min walk. The walk does require some effort as there is a bit of an incline to get there, but nothing too taxing. The library itself has a large room for viewing videos or for sitting at tables (each with a built-in power supply) to access Wi-Fi. The building structure is supported by large tree posts, harvested from the local forest. The modern structure is well organized with a view to maximize space and provide comfortable reading areas for students and visitors.
