Worth a stop. The Whale Skeleton is very impressive. Lots of good information about the Wildlife Refuge. Not to be missed.

A great introduction to the wildlife of Kodiak land and sea.
I lived in Kodiak for years but this was my first visit to the Visitors Center. Admission is free and there is a movie that is shown that gives a broad spectrum of information about the wildlife on Kodiak. Also very interesting is the actual skeleton of a whale, suspended from the 2nd floor ceiling, which was recovered from one of the local beaches. The rest of the exhibits of local land and sea animals was very informative. Take a few minutes and visit this facility and learn a lot about nature in the area.
