Kodiak Military History Museum, Alaska, United States

4.5 (38 reviews) Spent < 1 hour Ranking #6 in Kodiak Island Military Museums

Located Inside An Old Bunker

This museum has very limited hours but is worth arranging your schedule to see it. It is a repository of some great WW II artifacts. Lots of history WRT the build up of defenses on Kodiak Island against the Japanese. If you are at all interested in WWII history this is a museum for you.

    Hidden gem of a museum
Full of WWII artifacts housed in an old bunker. The volunteers are a wealth of information and stories. The $5 donation keeps the "lights on". Not just the usual museum stuff, they have weapons radios, uniforms, even a jeep, We ended up spending over an hour here

This place is pretty awesome! We were the only ones in there a man took us through the whole place and explained the the different things that went on during the war then outside over the cliff is fantastic views well worth the visit.
