Great Bear Viewing in Kodiak Island!

My wife and I came to Kodiak Island specifically to see the bears, and Kingfisher delivered beyond our greatest expectations! Kyle was an excellent pilot and guide, and we were fortunate to have a gentle day with warm weather. Kyle was able to navigate us through both the Eastern and Western sections of Kodiak Island, the second largest island in the United States. We took the 1/2 mile hike to the viewing area, and we saw more than 20 bears! Many of the bears were cubs, and they were having fun playing literally 30 feet away from us! We had our pilots / guides and rangers around us and never felt threatened as we watched from a grassy knoll above the salmon ladder and river leading into Frazier Lake. We highly recommend Kingfisher Aviation for bear viewing in Kodiak Island! This was a wonderful and memorable experience

    15 to 18 Kodiak Bears
Bear watching trip: we saw 15 to 18 bears, including seven cubs. Wow! What an experience to be on the ground with the bears. To watch them catch salmon, listen to them growl, see cubs play and take pictures. The closest bear was 20 to 25 yards. It forgot we were standing on a bluff above it. When Glenn saw the bear coming he stepped towards it and the bear went a different direction. His directions are very clear on bear safety. I went on July 27. The salmon were at a fish ladder on the Frazer River just before Frazer Lake. Going when the salmon are at the fish ladder will increase your chances of seeing the bears. It was one of the best experiences I have been on. I was glad I chose to fly to see the bears

    Highlight of our trip!
We cannot say enough great things about our trip, absolutely amazing! We spent two weeks in Alaska and we all agreed this was hands down the highlight. From the beginning, everyone at Kingfisher could not have been more helpful, Teri was wonderful in helping us get set up and Glen was an amazing pilot and guide. The flights to and from Frazer Lake were stunning, with amazing views, mountain goats, and even some fin whales on the way back! Glen was an incredible pilot and guide, ensuring we remained both entertained and of course safe throughout the entire trip. The bears though, wow! We saw numerous sows and cubs of all ages, actively playing, fishing, and of course eating salmon! We cannot recommend Kingfisher and the Frazer Lake tour enough, and absolute must do on Kodiak!
