Not Touristy knick-knacks
If you are particular and looking for quality hand made items for yourself or to bring home from an amazing Alaska adventure then Island Artists is the place to go. It is filled with a unique array from jewelry to photography and so much more.. Our favorite (bought many) are the hand made wooden pend made by Jay Sweeney. It's difficult to find gifts for men and these are perfect and reasonable for the work it involves. Hand painted scarves, glass work wood bowls are all done by Alaska artists. It's a bit off the center of Sitka but still in the downtown 2 blocks. If you're not looking for typical touristy stuff, you won't be disappointed here. The first place we go shopping in Sitka.

Local art must see
Sitka's premier gallery for local art. 25 different local artists have collaborated to create the Island Artists Gallery. There is a wide selection of art on display including fine handcrafted jewelry, photography, pottery, fish prints, wood turnings, watercolor, hand painted silks and so much more. No visit to Sitka is complete without a journey to the artistic soul of this Alaskan community.

Really liked this store
I really enjoyed this store. Lots of beautiful items by local artists at affordable prices. Nice change from traditional tourist stores. Bought some beautiful pieces.
