" Old Time Saloon with Very Cold Beer "
My wife and some friends of ours visited Ernie's Old Time Saloon in Sitka Alaska last week, and had a great time as we stepped back in history. The Saloon brings back memories of the old days, the way Bars, and Saloons, used to be. It was very refreshing to see the way Ernie's Saloon was decorated and laid out. Pete, the daytime Bartender was so friendly and nice as we asked him about the history of Ernie's Old Time Saloon. Owner Stan Filler has owned the Saloon for 50 years. By the way, they also have the coldest Tap beer I have ever tasted, it was Awesome ! You must stop and see Ernie's Old Time Saloon when you visit Sitka, Alaska.

Best dive Bar ever!
Wandering around Sitka, trying to escape the tourists led us to this beer joint. Just the atmosphere we were looking for. Pete the barkeep was most accomodating, giving us the history of the palce. Still around since 1939, when it catered to military personnel, they still serve up cold dratf beer at reasonable prices ($6 pints of Alaskan Amber, $5 for Sitka spruce tip). Good mix of locals & cruise ship tourists.

Great Local Bar
My favorite bar in Sitka. This is a great locals place that welcomed visitors. Chris was a great bartender. Made great drinks, especially Salty Dogs. Food - there is a food truck out back but expensive ... but I liked the owner.
