K'esugi Ken Campground - outstanding

Denali State Park - K'esugi Ken Campground - outstanding campground. We rented a RV space (with electric, fire pit, picnic table, but no water or dump). The campground was beautiful, spacious, and heavily wooded. Great fire pit with metal grate for cooking. Well maintained. Would highly recommend staying here on the way in or out of Denali National Park. It was just $28 plus $2 fee for booking online (ReserveAmerica.com).

    Walk on the Wild Side
There are beautiful views of Denali from here. The North View Campground has amazing views of Denali. Denali State Park is wild and a bit more of an "on your own" place than Denali national Park. you get to see the mountain from a different angle/side here which is special.

A short stop to see Denali
We wanted to see Denali but didn’t have time for the National Park, so settled for looking for it from Talkeetna and the lower viewing area in the Denali State Park. It is interesting to me that such a massive mountain can stay hidden behind the clouds so much. They say you only have about a 30% chance of seeing her. When we go to the viewing area we could see some mountains in front of us, and debated if they included Denali - nope. As we stood there and alternately looked through the free viewing scopes, we could tell there was something behind the clouds, and slowly the clouds started to clear starting at the top. In one picture you can see me pointing at Denali’s peak. She is massive.
