    Creek Street meander
Beautiful! We were there on a sunny, warm day. It was enjoyable to walk the “street” up Married Man’s Trail from the start of Creek Street to the fish ladder and back. It is very scenic and interesting to see the original buildings still standing. Most have been repurposed and are shops now but still interesting to see how the early residents lived. Although most of the brothels were required to move, it was interesting to see where Dollys got to stay. A sign on the building hilariously proclaims “DOLLY’S HOUSE Where both men and salmon came upstream to spawn”. Well worth a visit even if it’s only for a short walk.

Jumping salmon, history at no cost
Our cruise ship stopped at Ketchikan where we had a few hours to walk around and enjoy the town. To be honest it didn’t offer much different (there is a lumberjack show but we didn’t attend this). Beyond a few totem pole which are good to see the best part is Creek Street. This is primarily a number of shops over and by a river/creek which contains jumping salmon. Walking around allows you to imagine what it was like 100 years or so ago and is certainly worth a visit at no cost (unless you spend in the stores).
