Salvaged our National Park trip

Judy came up with a last minute flight seeing tour when another vendor cancelled our trip with little notice. Lana was a great pilot flying us thru the actual "Gates" of the artic. Thank you Judy.

Great Company with Amazing Staff and Flights
This summer I spent 32 days in Alaska starting in the Arctic Circle and slowly headed south. The first three days were spent in Bettles AK with Brooks Range Aviation and it was definitely one of the many highlights of my trip. Everyone I encountered in Bettles was friendly and kind! I went on two flights and both were exceptional!! The pilots were competent and clearly enjoyed what they do. They allowed me to set up my tent in the hanger while I was there which was great! I can not say enough about what a nice company this was to deal with both before and during my trip. I would recommend this company to anyone!!

Skilled Bush Pilots but not Tour Guides
Brooks Range provided the air taxi service from Prospect Airport to Bettles, a flightseeing tour of Gates of the Arctic, and a return trip to Prospect Airport. Of all the three flights the trip into Bettles was the most enjoyable. Evan was fantastic, with a comforting greeting, pointing out features of interest, and skillfully piloting the aircraft. The flightseeing tour was underwhelming. There was some confusion over which plane to use and general disorganization getting things started. The flight itself only made it half way to our destination, but this was due to weather, which certainly happens and Judy was very clear about upfront. There could have been better communication, or some communication, from the pilots, during the flight. Being titled flightseeing, we were just expecting something different. The were, again, very skilled and we never felt unsafe even with the bad weather. This may be due to our desire to have more of a tour versus just transport from A to B. They weren't unwelcoming or rude, just my expectation was there would be more pointing a feature or two. The kind of interaction we experienced on the flight in to Bettles. As soon as we landed without prompting they adjusted the cost of our flight which was very good of them to do and certain not something they had to do. The flight back out was well coordinated and again pleasant. We always felt comfortable. Again perhaps our expectations were off going in, but we just thought it was going to be a different experience than what we got. If we had known we probably would have done things differently.
