Bear Creek Winery, Alaska, United States

4.5 (158 reviews) Spent Ranking #11 in Homer Wineries & Vineyards

Well worth it

What a fun way to spend an hour or so - sipping tasty, local wines in a pretty setting. We learned a lot about different wines and found we actually loved some of the fruit wines (some are mixed with grapes). It was an inexpensive wine tasting and the cost went toward a bottle of wine. The gift shop was also a fun place to browse.

    Fun fruit winery
My wife and I stopped in for a tasting and wish we could have done the tour as the location is stunning! The fruit wines are also on a range of good to great, depending on your affinity for sweetness. I have an insatiable sweet tooth and found even the dry wines to be light and crisp and tasty. The tasting room is a fun space and it's worth spending $5 to taste some fruit wine. The $5 goes toward the purchase of a bottle if you decide to buy one. We ended up getting a couple bottles to enjoy in our RV on the rest of the trip. There was plenty of room to park our 24' RV.

    Fun wine tasting and cheap
It was a fun experience tasting the wines and it only cost $5 per person for up to 8 wines (cost is credited if you buy a bottle of wine). The wines are not the usual Napa style wines with all grapes but focus on fruits. So if you are a true wine connoisseur you may not appreciate the wines as much. The employees were very nice. Note there is no place for RV parking. We were fortunate that it was almost empty that day and we could park across 5 spots but I wish they noted this in their ads (included in all of the tourist maps and brochures).
