Thank you, Akook, for a lifetime adventure!

We arrived to Kaktovik on the second week of September to see the polar bears. By Sunny kindly help, we booked a year ahead 5 tours. Sunny was patient to all our requests and organized for us the perfect package for our needs. Jack and Steve were professional guides with a sense of humor and a lot of patience. They gave us warm clothes and navigate the boat to all the places that the bears were. Steve told us a lot about polar bears and their way of life. Before we booked the tours we afraid of the cold weather and the open boat but in the end, it was an advantage! We walked freely on the boat and has a 360-degrees angle for taking pictures. Thank you, Steve and Jack, for an unforgettable adventure! We cannot wait to book another tour to see the amazing polar bears

Truly A Once in a Lifetime Experience.
My daughter and I arrived in Kaktovik on a sunny day on September 3rd, 2017 and took the boat tour with Steve and Jack. It is hard to describe the exhilarating feeling and emotions ones feels when you see these majestic polar bears so close up, but the familiarity Steve and Jack felt with those animals gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation and they were constantly on the lookout for another bear or bear family and even found sighting of beluga whales further in the open waters.Although we had all our winter clothes on, they had some spare Arctic Parkas to keep us cozy. The boat might not be as fancy as some others , I felt that the vibes we got from Steve and Jack and their love for the pola bears and the Arctic made up for the lesser comfort. I only wished Steve would have shared some of his experiences as a photographer , which I only saw on his book many month later. Thank you Steve and Jack you fulfilled an 82 year old (or young) lady's dream.

A Once in a Lifetime Experience
We took a 3-night trip to Barter Island and booked tours with Akook. It was perfect for us. Sunny was a welcome communicator who helped us understand and prepare for our travels to Kaktovik. Jack and Steve’s love for the polar bears was obvious by their knowledge and shared information about them. They used best practices as to not disturb the bears at any time during our journey. We had one day where winds were 30-40 mph. We were thankful that we didn't go out this day, as we did not feel safe. Getting the recommended trip insurance took care of the losses from those two trips. We saw lots of cubs and moms along with many young males. Steve took great care in dressing us warmly with arctic gear. Jack and Steve knew the lagoon and its waters in great detail. The boat was great. It had a windbreak, a cover and was low to the water. We got great photos and really enjoyed our arctic experience. Thank you guys for a wonderful trip.
