Blast from the past
So much fun! A blast from the past. Well worth the drive from Huntsville. It was like walking back in time as everything is kept in repair, has a well-appointed layout, and has unique products that are things you would want. We love picking out candy from the bin, getting old-fashioned sodas, and picking out amazing chocolate confections from the case. I love the vinyl Southern sayings stickers and Tshirts. What a great place to spend an afternoon! They even have a seating area with checkers and a former soda fountain type stool area where we could eat all of our fun finds. Well worth the drive. We’ll be back. They’re also right across the street from a pizza place.

Nice store
We stopped in while in Athens on business. I really enjoyed this store. The staff was really friendly and showed us some of the antiques scattered around the store. This store has a little bit of everything from candy to kitchen items. I really enjoyed this stop and look forward to visiting again soon.

Better than Harrison Brothers in Huntsville
A real, operating old-time hardware store, like Lewter's in Huntsville. They have local tourist brochures and gifts in the front (like jars of green tomato relish). In the back are iron skillets, Radio Flyer wagons, etc. They have been here nearly a century. Also located inside the historic U.G. White building is LuVici's restaurant, if you're in the mood for a true southern dining experience. See www.luvicis.com On the northwest corner of the courthouse square.
