The Legacy Museum, Alabama, United States

4.5 (12 reviews) Spent Ranking #5 in Tuskegee Speciality Museums

Very insightful and interesting

Tuskegee University's Legacy Museum is a gem! The location may be small but its impact and relevance surely isn't. I was excited to learn about such rich history which has been preserved for over 100 years. I also learned more about the Syphilis Experiment and Ms. Henrietta Lacks. I would recommend The Legacy Museum to everyone as it tells important parts of history I feel everyone should know!

    Hidden Gem
It is difficult to find this museum on the Tuskegee Campus but well worth an hour visit. Most people visit the Carver Museum and the Booker T. Washington Museum and skip this one. Even if you have heard of Henrietta Lacks and The Tuskegee Experiments, it is worthwhile to visit the museum for their presentation on those 2 subjects. Not be suitable for young children but okay for teens. Prepared to be shocked on the second floor.

    Super interesting! Worth the stop!
This museum is on the Tuskegee University campus and the directions via google can be confusing, so be sure the visit the museum's website for better details on getting there. The first floor is a different theme from the second floor. The second floor really sucked me in with the medical history of Tuskegee and the story of Henrietta Lacks. If you have some free time or are in the area, I rate this as a must see for people who enjoy learning about history.
